Some politicians are all talk but Misty Servia has gotten the job done, working hard to make District 4 great!
Misty was instrumental in improving drainage and flooding problems.
Misty fought and obtained funding for expansion of 63rd Ave. E.
Misty spearheaded code enforcement changes from REACTIVE to PROACTIVE, preventing problems at the source!
Misty initiated MAJOR changes to tackling homelessness issues.
Misty has spearheaded implementation of speed humps and increased traffic law enforcement in these areas and others.
Misty was instrumental in passing an ordinance to eliminate nuisance businesses that overly tax our public resources and contribute to illegal activity. She is now working with the Sheriff and State Legislators to target the illegal gambling arcades.
Misty works hard to identify problem areas for residents and propose solutions. Examples include: median clean-up at Wild Oak Bay and stormwater flooding prevention & mitigation at Shadybrook Village, Center Lake, Trailer Estates and Whitfield Estates.
Misty regularly works with the engineering staff to identify areas where we can lay tubes to count cars, evaluate vehicle speeds and propose improvements to increase public safety for pedestrians.
Misty worked with a local expert and brought the voices from District 4 forward through the Citizen's Coalition on Growth to fight for ADUs (accessory dwelling units). Ultimately ADUs were approved. This incentivizes young professionals to return to Manatee County by offering free or low-cost housing as they begin their career!
Misty collaborates with law enforcement and Centerstone regularly to consistently tackle addiction issues for the improvement of our community's health.
Misty actively promotes redevelopment of the Urban Corridors to reduce blight. She has regular meetings with property owners and business owners interested in redevelopment.
